Highest number of days on market: Boston (02111) at 183 days

Lowest number of days on market: Boston (02210) at 9 days

Lowest price per sq ft: Hull (02045)

Highest price per sq ft: Boston’s Seaport (02210) is still at the top of the list, rising to $1,607 per sq. ft. from last month’s $1,579 per sq. ft.

Let’s talk about the Boston-area market. If you looked at houses in January 2020 in the West Newton, Wellesley, Waltham, Watertown area, or in Cambridge/Arlington, you saw that houses went FAST – 13-20 days on the market – and over asking price – by about 1%.

The zip codes with longer time on the market had a median list price of over $1.5m, like areas of Boston, Weston, and Brookline. Deals are hard to find in this market, but they’re out there – specifically in Chelsea, Allston, Woburn, and Hull – and you have to act fast.
