You might just find your new favorite Spotify playlist for work.
Hello from Zach, one of the co-founders of Torii.
I really like Fridays at Torii. We have two small but meaningful traditions that I look forward to at the end of the week. The first is “shout-out,” which we do after our daily standup update. Our team spends a few minutes highlighting one another’s work and efforts. It’s a concise, mindful way to celebrate the wins each week. The second tradition is Torii Tunes, which started almost a year ago!
Every Friday we update our Spotify playlist, “Torii Tunes,” with ten new songs hand-picked by someone on the team or one of our partners. The selection is summarily “eclectic,” somewhere between the algorithms of Mint, Pollen, Rap Caviar, Disco Fever, and Jazz Vibes.
Music has been always been a constant for me, so Torii Tunes is a way to share that part of my life with our team and larger community. I grew up playing classical piano and jazz saxophone. In middle school and high school, I would spend weekends making beats with friends using clunky music software like Fruity Loops and Soundtrack. After college, I spent the better part of a decade working as an electronic music producer and DJ.
If you’re looking for good vibes and a little bit of everything to accompany your morning commute or weekend revelry, check back to our playlist each week for a new batch of Torii Tunes. (You can also follow us on Facebook, where we post our new playlists on Fridays.)
Want to be featured on an upcoming volume of Torii Tunes? Soon we’ll be opening this up to our clients, so get in touch! Or just send us what you would put on your Spotify playlist for work!
